Liverpool's Star Extends Regret to Liverpool Dressing Room, Reveals Curtis Jones
Curtis Jones has disclosed that Salah said sorry to the entire Liverpool squad in the wake of the uproar from his televised remarks.
The Incident
He was omitted from a key Champions League match subsequent to making accusations and claiming his relationship with manager had soured.
“Mo is his own man and he can say his own stuff,” Jones told Sky Sports. “He said sorry to the group and was like: ‘If I’ve affected anybody, I'm sorry.’”
The head coach has previously declined to comment publicly on whether he got an explanation from the player.
Looking Ahead
The player stated that the team's response was unchanged. “He was his usual self, he was smiling and everybody was exactly the same with him,” he continued.
The midfielder also suggested that a teammate fighting for a place is less of an issue. “I understand there are certain ways you can go about things,” he said. “However, if a player is content to just be on the bench, then I think that’s a bigger problem.”
Positive Results
Liverpool's form have been impressive in the games following the interview fallout. The player is convinced the forward's comments were never meant to harm the team.
“If passion has boiled over, it’s always been from a good place,” Jones concluded. “That chapter is closed and we’re building chemistry, performing and on a positive run.”
