Iranian Forces State Attack on American Facility in Bahrain, Amid Regional Military Operations.
Iran's military claims to have hit a US naval base in Bahrain, as the country executed strikes throughout the Middle East in response for a large-scale and ongoing assault targeting the nation by the US and Israel.
Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an vicinity close to the headquarters of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The extent of any damage is unclear and the American officials has yet to issue a statement.
Regional Interceptions
Elsewhere across the region, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Qatar and the State of Kuwait - which all house American military installations - said they have shot down incoming projectiles in their airspace.
In Doha, Qatar's defence ministry stated it had successfully engaged a number of projectiles apparently targeting the al-Udeid air base, the largest American base in the Middle East.
Operation "Truthful Promise 4"
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard said in a statement it was attacking US bases and assets as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the offensive on the Islamic Republic carried out by the US and Israel on Saturday.
That initial attack - initiated at around 06:15 GMT - has so far targeted locations linked to the Tehran's leadership, with US President Donald Trump encouraging the people of Iran to revolt against the government.
Regional Fallout
In the State of Israel, air raid sirens sounded across the country after the Israel Defense Forces reported it had detected an incoming Iranian missile barrage.
The defence ministry of the UAE stated that the country has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"Emirati air defenses engaged the projectiles with notable success and shot down a number of missiles," the statement continued.
Officials reported wreckage fell on a populated district in the capital, causing some property damage and fatalities.
The United States Air Force operates from Al Dhafra Air Base, to the south of the Emirati capital, along with the UAE Air Force.
