Miami scored eighty-six first-half scores versus the Memphis Grizzlies

Miami Heat claimed a decisive 146-114 victory against the Memphis Grizzlies in their first NBA game since guard Terry Rozier was detained for suspected unlawful gambling.

Portland Trail Blazers head coach Chauncey Billups was also detained as part of a sweeping federal investigation into illegal gambling. The two individuals contest the allegations.

Speaking about the detentions for the first time, NBA commissioner Adam Silver said he was "deeply disturbed" by the events of the past few days.

"There's nothing more important to the NBA and supporters than the fairness of the competition," he informed a broadcaster. "Therefore I had a pit in my stomach. It was very upsetting."

The commissioner also mentioned an league probe into Rozier's actions in spring 2023, when there was "aberrational betting" in a game he participated for the Hornets versus the New Orleans Pelicans, discovered no wrongdoing.

"It was brought to our attention by the regulators and the betting companies," he continued.

"We investigated the matter and were open regarding it. Although there was that aberrational betting, we, frankly, couldn't find anything.

"Federal authorities has legal authority... [it] can impose penalties, can take various actions that the NBA can't do.

"Therefore, we've been cooperating from that point. And, of course, what they revealed yesterday was an charge.

"Moreover 30 months after, he has not been found guilty of anything, in justice to Terry.

"Clearly, it doesn't look good, but he's been put on administrative leave, and so it is a balance in this case between protecting people's rights and conducting an inquiry."

After scoring 43 scores in a first loss to the Warriors, the European star achieved forty-nine scores - to go with eleven boards and 8 passes - as the Lakers beat the Timberwolves 128 to 110.

Greek player Antetokounmpo additionally had a strong performance with thirty-one points, twenty boards and seven assists in the Milwaukee Bucks' 122 to 116 win at the Raptors.

Houston Rockets were beaten 115-111 by the Detroit Pistons even with 37 points from Durant, while Wembanyama had 29 scores, 11 boards and nine rejections in the Spurs' extra-time victory against the New Orleans.
