Emma Raducanu wraps up the current season and will keep coach for 2026.

Emma Raducanu in action during a tennis match

Raducanu reached the third round in three out of four major tournaments this year.

Britain's Emma Raducanu will not compete in her remaining competitions of the year due to a medical condition she has been battling for the last week and a half.

Raducanu, aged 22 was due to play in Tokyo and Hong Kong but chose to travel back to rest and recuperate ahead of launching next year's training.

Her upcoming training will involve trainer Francisco Roig, as the pair have decided to continue collaborating in 2026.

Raducanu underwent blood pressure monitoring during her first-round match with Ann Li in Wuhan and retired when losing 6-1 4-1 on an oppressively humid day.

She again required a doctor's assessment at this week's Ningbo Open, where she was defeated in three sets to Chinese wildcard Zhu Lin in round one.

Raducanu was also moving far from freely in the deciding set in the match with Zhu owing to a lower back issue that has been a concern at times this year.

These outcomes followed a positive campaign, in which Raducanu rose into the world's top 30 after a long gap for the first time since 2022, ended with three successive defeats.

The athlete was close to victory with three match points before losing to Pegula in round three in the Beijing tournament last month.

She secured 28 matches in the current season and advanced to the semis in Washington, but her standout performance was at March's Miami Open.

The British number one advanced to the quarters of this WTA 1000 tournament, beating eighth seed Emma Navarro en route before losing in three sets to Pegula, ranked fourth.

She was coached by Mark Petchey from the Miami event through Wimbledon, with Roig assuming the role ahead of the US Open.

The original arrangement with Rafael Nadal's former coach was for the remainder of the year but the collaboration persists, with a training block pencilled in late this year.

Raducanu told that a three-day test period with Roig post-Wimbledon was like a "black ops mission" as the meeting was kept under wraps.

She came very close to defeating top-ranked Aryna Sabalenka at their first tournament together in Cincinnati during August.

Roig was also with Raducanu in the New York tournament, where she reached the third round prior to losing to Rybakina, champion at Wimbledon in 2022.
